Richard Leviathan founded OSTARA in 1999 after having worked and toured with DEATH IN JUNE in the late 1990s. The band has been making a name for itself ever since the release of their first album, 'Secret Homeland' in 2000. The second album, 'Kingdom Gone' (2002) broke new ground with songs like 'Bavaria', 'The Trees March North' and 'Overworld' becoming instant favourites among their growing number of fans. In 2003, Leviathan recruited guitarist and composer, Stu Mason for the recording of 'Ultima Thule', an album that placed the band more firmly in the Gothic scene.
